NEWS ABOUT EUROPE

If you are interested in learning more about Europe (aside from tourist information) before your travel date, the online independent New Europe newspaper is a very good source. They have NO political affiliation and strive "to present factually-correct information"..."that enriches the public dialogue"... and "supports sound decision-making". Their audience "includes European Institutions, policymakers, politicians, governments, and NGO’s", among others. You may use their search field to find topics of interest and then narrow your search further by checking filter boxes.

Another good source of information is the student run Brussels, Belgium organization known as Eyes On Europe. In addition to writing articles for their site, a newsletter and a magazine, they "organize conferences, debates, visits, social activities and partnerships with other European and local organizations." Their highest goal is striving to raise "awareness of European citizens, and the development of a critical goal of fairness towards the European Union."

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness..."

From the book "Innocents Abroad"
by Mark Twain

Looks lovely, perfect size to carry, and well-thought-out and executed. Here's a way to organize your next vacation and it’s a great travel companion. Even if you don't have a trip planned for the near future, it’s a easy way to start dreaming about your next vacation. Highly recommended!

About Slow Travel Tales

Slow Travel Tales / Publisher

Shop Owner / Author  Peri Kittell

Hello!

It was an economic downturn and a layoff that led Peri Kittell to living a slow travel European Lifestyle. She began thinking about the future and how to turn an unfortunate situation into an opportunity of a lifetime. Without a permanent residence and furnishings, she could live anywhere in the world. San Diego is her US hub and London is her international hub. She began her slow travel adventure by flying to London where she lived for 4 months. Thereafter, her three year plan was to live in each city for 3 months. During her European living, it was necessary to return to the US to renew her passport and driver's license. That gave her an opportunity to plan additional extended stays in London. In addition to London, she lived in Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Rome, and Madrid.

She created these extended stay Travel Planning Notebook and Travel Journals based on her research, planning and journal writing process. She trusts that with one of the European City Notebooks you'll be able to apply the suggestions, tips and tools to your own slow travel planning and journal writing to memorialize your own adventure of a lifetime.

What options might you have to carve out a 3-month period so you could live in a foreign county for an extended time? What's the first city you'd like to live in? Tell us where you're going and for how long. Inspire other travel enthusiasts to start thinking about their next journey. We'd like to hear from you, so, please get in touch!

Bon Voyage!
